David was the founder of the company back in the 1990’s. As a dedicated carp angler himself he has fished most of the major French waters since 1991. He retired in 2019 but still continues to work for us on a consultancy basis.
Since jointly setting up the business with David in 1998, Bridget has now retired to France, although continues on a consultancy basis as our ambassador. She is the first to discover our new carp lakes in France.
“I've had a fascination with water for as long as I can remember and having a family home on the banks of a canal made it inevitable that I would one day become an angler. Whether it's catching big carp in France, pike in Sweden, catfish in Spain, blue cod in New Zealand or just Rudd on my local pond, I'm completely obsessed with angling and have always loved to combine it with travelling. I enjoy the challenge of going to far away places and catching some amazing fish, as well as making some special memories. I enjoy documenting my adventures in France through film and writing and I'm fortunate to be able to give the customers of Angling Lines a glimpse into some of the special waters they have.”
“I am a photographer and filmmaker based in Surrey, UK. I have been an angler for the best part of 30 years and have caught a variety of species from all over the world. My passion for carp angling started as a teenager and has grown into a life long pursuit and obsession for the sport. I have my own brand within the industry known as ‘Brothercarp’ as well as being a consultant for Nash Tackle I also work for a number of different angling brands and service providers across Europe.
I have visited some of the smallest and intimate lakes and canals to vast and expansive reservoirs and mountain lakes. Overcoming a variety of different challenges and conditions throughout my career has given me the knowledge to target these beautiful creatures to great effect. I like to document my travels in the form of film and media to share my story with the public and inspire them to travel and experience the incredible fishing Europe and the world has to offer. Having been a previous customer of Angling Lines for more than 10 years it was an easy choice for me to work with them to capture the amazing venues and fishing they have to offer."
“I’ve been carp fishing for over thirty-five years and have been full time in the trade for twenty. I love my time on the bank and especially travelling to distant destinations. I love that sense of the unknown and adventure. I think that’s probably why I’ve been travelling to France for so long. The fishing experience is one thing, but I’ve also always enjoyed different local environments and local facilities. When I think back to all the places I’ve fished, it is not just the big carp that I remember, but the experience of being in that area and the people I’ve met. I think of the characters and the funny stories and experiences along the way. On one trip to France I can remember leaving my partner with all three rods whilst I went off for a shower thinking it was a quiet spell. When I returned she’d had a fish on every rod. There were rods and nets everywhere and the great big smile on her face was priceless. They weren’t the biggest fish in the lake, but that experience and image will stay with me forever. I’ve been a customer of Angling Lines and I do filming work for them. Their service is always outstanding and they have an extensive list of superb venues. I often take my family with me these days and we always have a great time. I know I’m a little biased, but as far as I’m concerned you can’t beat a good fishing holiday. "
