To tie this rig you will need Curve Shank hooks, Fluorocarbon hook length, rig rings, uncoated soft braid hook length, line sinkers and some rig putty.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_18185\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18185\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18185\" alt=\"combi-rig carp fishing rig blog\" src=\"https:\/\/www.anglinglines.com\/blog\/wp-content\/images\/2013\/12\/Combi-rig-parts.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"398\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.anglinglines.com\/blog\/wp-content\/images\/2013\/12\/Combi-rig-parts.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.anglinglines.com\/blog\/wp-content\/images\/2013\/12\/Combi-rig-parts-150x99.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.anglinglines.com\/blog\/wp-content\/images\/2013\/12\/Combi-rig-parts-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-18185\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">What you will need<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p>To start with take a section of the Braid, in this case I\u2019m using Korda 25lb Supernatural, with this create your hair by making a loop in your line using a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.uk\/search?q=grinne+knot&amp;oq=grinne+knot&amp;aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.3050j0j7&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;espv=210&amp;es_sm=122&amp;ie=UTF-8#es_sm=122&amp;espv=210&amp;q=granny+knot\" target=\"_blank\">granny knot<\/a>. Then attach a rig ring to the line also using a granny knot, in this case I used 2 granny knots as the ring does have a tendency to slip. Make sure when you put the ring on that there is enough space between the ring and the end of the hair for your bait, I use a Solar Hair Gauge to get the hair just right.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_18177\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18177\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18177\" alt=\"combi-rig carp fishing rig blog\" src=\"https:\/\/www.anglinglines.com\/blog\/wp-content\/images\/2013\/12\/Combi-Rig-Part-1.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"398\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.anglinglines.com\/blog\/wp-content\/images\/2013\/12\/Combi-Rig-Part-1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.anglinglines.com\/blog\/wp-content\/images\/2013\/12\/Combi-Rig-Part-1-150x99.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.anglinglines.com\/blog\/wp-content\/images\/2013\/12\/Combi-Rig-Part-1-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-18177\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Step 1<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p>You now need to slide the ring on the hook so that is roughly opposite where the point is, this is to ensure that the ring doesn\u2019t slide round the bend and off the end of your hook, you can test this by moving the ring round the hook to a point where it can no longer slide further round the bend. Take a section of your fluorocarbon and at one end make a loop, if you squeeze it a little it will kink and will make it a bit easier to make the knot. This will help pull the hook down when it\u2019s in the mouth of the carp, helping to set the hook. Rig putty can also be added.
