To get the 2011 season underway Lillypool opened its gates to Andy, Mark and 12yr old Ben. When they arrived it was turning into a blistering hot day for the 9th of April, infact it reached a high of 72f.
48.02 mirror carp is the new lake record
Anyway, tea made, we made our way around the lake so they could choose their swims. They were really tired from their trip so they didn`t really bother to fish until Sunday… and what a start they had… several fish landed and it looked good for a load more.
It`s now Tuesday evening and with 24 fish on the bank so far they really have got off to a flyer!
Young Ben has broken his PB with a 25lb common and dad Andy his with a 25.8lb common.
But there was bigger and better things to come for Andy in the way of a new Lillypool lake record. Smashing his new PB by almost double, he’s had a stunning 48.8lb mirror!
