This pre-Napoleonic 5 acre French carp lake is truly beautiful and the fishing doesn’t disappoint either. With carp reaching to over 60lb, there are over a dozen known 50lb+ and the majority are over the 30lb mark.
Suiting up to 4 anglers, you book the lake exclusively for your group for the week. There are also optional home-cooked food packages and a range of bait available onsite.
We have availability for 2023 bookings now!

Granite Lake is fed by a class A trout stream, giving a constant change of water. This has contributed to a very healthy lake with carp that continue to grow.
The average weights and numbers are seriously impressive for a lake of this size, with over 13 x 50lb+ carp backed up by a further 20 or so 40lb’ers. The rest are mostly in the 30-39lb region.
The v shape of the water allows each swim plenty of features and overhanging margins. There are four swims on the lake, with two of these acting as a ‘double’ swim.
And finally, on site you’ll find the basic facilities you need, newly built in 2021. These are sympathetic to the fact that due to the lake’s rural location it is not on mains services.
Located close to swims 1 & 2, the shower block has a sink, shower and dry compost toilet. There’s also another dry compost toilet behind swims 3 & 4. Charging points (run off solar power) are available in the boat house, which is open all day.
Here’s some recent feedback from anglers:
“I had 13 fish with one day still to go. Biggest being 54lb, the rest being between late 30’s and 40’s. The other three anglers have had 6 fish ranging from early 30’s to late 40’s. Just like to mention the food served for breakfast and dinner was fantastic. The owner was very polite and helpful. 100% would recommend this venue.”
“Happy with the facilities, from the swims on the lake to the nice and clean showers and great food package. It’s been a pleasure to fish Granite lake, from first impressions the lake looks lovely, very mature and honest to what you see online. Paul was really helpful from the outset.”
