Week Three on Barringtons Lake

Week 3 and it’s hotting up here at Barrington’s Lake. We had a mix of groups this week. We had Lee and his wife Judith from England, Luke also English, our Dutch friend Sander brought his friend Made’ and there were two Belgian anglers for a long weekend, Nathan and Istvan.

The catch report ran to 3 pages and there were 81 carp weighing 1,891lb2oz in total. 25 x 20’s, 22 x 30’s and 3 40’s.

Lee fished swim 7 and had 26 carp during the week including a few stockies and a beautiful 41lb12oz mirror and Judith had a new PB of a 10lb2oz common.

Luke fished swim 2 and landed 21 carp also including a few stockies and a mirror of 37lb. We would watch him going through the reeds and into the water to land some of his fish.

Made’ fished swim 4 and as suggested by us he kept his bivvy back on the path and his rod tips off the water. He used boilies made by our friend Sander and landed 18 carp including two forties – a 40lb11oz mirror known as Ribby and another mirror of 40lb3oz.

Sander wasn’t fishing as he was helping us with the construction of the new dining room and also being cameraman to Luke and Made’. Top bloke!

Lee Hasbury – 33lb

Nathan and Istvan fished together in swim 6 with their little Jack Russell, Duc. They used a bait boat to place their lines along the dam wall area and in front of them. Sadly, they only landed stockies but some of them weighed over 14lb. They did lose a couple of fish that they said had felt bigger but said that they had enjoyed their visit and would like to return.

It was a lovely week and we ate outside most days and had a BBQ on Wednesday evening.

Been to lots of French trips. I have to put Barringtons up there as probably the best. Fantastic hosts and gorgeous lake with fish that fight hard.” Lee Hasbury, read his full feedback from the week here.
