Angling experience;

I’m pretty sure I’ve been angling in one way or another as long as i have been walking. Starting off netting stickle backs in streams then progressing from there. I have been carp fishing for around 15 years.

Favourite UK water;

My favourite venue for carp fishing in the UK is definatly the river Thames. Being so big there is such a diverse choice of swims and tactics you can use when fishing the Thames.

Most memorable capture;

There are so many memorable captures but for me the 2 that stand out are catching a 158lb Wels catfish from the river Ebro, the power of these fish is unforgettable. The second is catching my first 50lb Carp in the shape of “Bennetts” at 51lb 4oz from Villefond, such a brute of a fish. Hopefully I will be creating more memories in the not so distant future.

Favourite tactics/methods;

My favourite ways to catching carp are floater fishing and stalking, its great to watch the fish actually picking up your bait.

If there was one piece of advice you could offer to a first time French carp angler what would it be?

First and foremost would be to book with a reputable company like Angling Lines, that way you don’t have to worry about being misinformed. Also, make sure you get as much info from the lake owners/managers before you start fishing, they are the guys who know what is working best at the time of your visit.
